Documented knowledge

History and context

The sanctuary was traditionally founded in 711 and transferred to its current site in the 9th century. Torii are offered by individuals and businesses in thanksgiving or as a prayer, which explains the permanent evolution of alignments.

Traditions and philosophies

Why is this place spiritual?

Inari has many meanings related to agriculture, food and prosperity. Foxes, messengers of Inari, are not themselves the kami. Ascension meets small shrines, stones and prayer spaces.

Location experience

What the landscape makes you feel

The tori tunnels create an alternation of red, shade and forest. Getting away from the busy entrance allows you to better perceive the mountainous and ritual character of the route.

Critical Look

Energy, atmosphere and feelings

Visual repetition and ascent can lead to sustained attention. It is more faithful to talk about offerings, gratitude and relation to the kami than to energy corridor.

Orabel's fatherPersonal feelings can be profound and sincere without constituting scientific proof or therapeutic promise.
