Introduction
Understanding Practice
Chromotherapy attributes specific effects to each colour on the body or energy. Light has real biological effects, but this does not validate these therapeutic matches.
Benefits sought
- Atmosphere
- Relaxation
- Emotional expression
- Symbolic ritual
History and evolution
The colours have many religious and medical symbols. In the 19th and 20th centuries, systems offer fixed correspondences, then taken over by some New Age currents.
Practice guidance
- Choice of a color
- Lighting or visualization
- Symbolic association
- Subjective observation of the atmosphere
What does a session look like?
The person is exposed to a colored or guided light in a visualization. The experience can change the mood without diagnosing or treating an organ.
What we know — and what we don't know
Colours influence the atmosphere and perception, but the color treatments attributed to the organs are not shown.
Time and phototherapy use precise light parameters for targeted indications, and do not prove that a given color "cares" an organ or chakra.
Precautions and limits
- Do not look at an intense light source.
- Medical advice in case of eye disease, bipolar disorder or photosensitivity medication.
- Distinguish decorative lamp, light therapy lamp and medical device.
Severe pain, aggravation, unusual symptom or psychological distress require appropriate professional advice. Orabel does not offer any diagnosis or prescription.
Status in France
The title of chromotherapy is not regulated. Medical phototherapy is a separate practice, with devices and framed indications.
Do not borrow the prestige of scientific phototherapy to validate energy matches.
