History and context
Indigenous peoples have been in the valley for thousands of years. The walls record stories, visions, events and transformations, including the arrival of horses and firearms. UNESCO rankings have been prepared with the Blackfoot Confederation, whose interpretations are essential.
Why is this place spiritual?
The landscape combines environment, stories, powers and responsibilities in precise blackfoot settings. Not all images or meanings are available for universal public interpretation.
What the landscape makes you feel
The carved cliffs, meadows and hoodoos corridors create a landscape that is both open and narrow. Guided tours avoid a purely aesthetic reading.
Energy, atmosphere and feelings
Orabel does not translate the blackfoot spiritual perceptions into a vague votex vocabulary. Their meaning belongs to a tradition, territory and community relations.
