Worldview, beliefs and practices
Revelation is progressive, but God remains unknowable in essence. Faith promotes equality of women and men, universal education, harmony between science and religion, personal search for truth and overcoming prejudice.
Compulsory daily prayer, 19-day fasting, reading of writings and service are central practices. Communities gather on the 19-day feast.
Texts, symbols and transmission
Kitáb-i-Aqdas, Kitáb-i-Íqán, Hidden Words, written by Báb and ‘Abdu的l-Bahá. Symbols: nine-point star, calligraphy of the "Greatest Name", nine-sided temples.
What research can and cannot say
The harmony between science and religion is a theological principle, not scientific proof of revelation. Researchers study the formation of a world religion from a Shiite Islamic context.
