- Tabernacle Music
- Different religious access by building
History and context
Mormon pioneers arrived in the valley in 1847 under the direction of Brigham Young. The temple was built between 1853 and 1893. This history included persecutions suffered, collective migration, colonization of the native territory, institutional power and doctrinal transformations.
Why is this place spiritual?
The temple is reserved for members who meet religious conditions, unlike some other open buildings. For the faithful, the ordinances of the temple concern covenant, family and salvation; details should not be treated as secret curiosities.
What the landscape makes you feel
Gardens, choir music, reception centre and architecture give the neighborhood a strong coherence. Work and access conditions can evolve.
Energy, atmosphere and feelings
The sense of the place comes from belonging, from music and from community history, not from a particular energy field.
Discover with respect
- Respect temple entry restrictions.
- Address institutional history with sources and nuance.
- Do not make a fool of or reveal rites outside context.
