Introduction
Understanding Practice
Homeopathy is based on the "law of the like" and repeated dilutions, sometimes beyond the measurable presence of the initial substance, and should not replace effective treatment.
Benefits sought
- Catch ritual
- Extended listening
- Support feeling
- Symptomatic relief expectation
History and evolution
Samuel Hahnemann developed the system at a time when many medical treatments were themselves dangerous. Its sustainable dissemination is explained by a complex social, professional and cultural history.
Practice guidance
- Choice of a substance assumed to be similar to symptoms
- Dilutions and succussions
- Individualization of the remedy
- Often long maintenance
What does a session look like?
Maintenance explores symptoms and general profile before recommending granules or solutions. The absence of active molecule in high dilutions does not mean that any product labelled homeopathic is safe.
What we know — and what we don't know
There is little evidence that homeopathy is effective for a specific condition beyond contextual effects.
The rigorous evaluations do not provide reliable evidence of specific efficacy for a disease. Perceived effects may come from natural evolution, associated care and relational context.
Precautions and limits
- Never replace vaccination, indicated antibiotic or treatment of a serious disease.
- Some low-diluted products may contain active substances, alcohol or contaminants.
- Check quickly if symptoms persist or worsen.
Severe pain, aggravation, unusual symptom or psychological distress require appropriate professional advice. Orabel does not offer any diagnosis or prescription.
Status in France
Homeopathic products are framed as health products according to their status, but this framework does not constitute evidence of clinical efficacy.
To clearly inform the absence of specific evidence and avoid ideological opposition to conventional care.
